Troubleshooting

The desktop client says "Can't Connect to Server" after I enter my username and password.

There may be several reasons for this.

  • First, check to make sure that you are connected to the internet.

  • If you are connected to the internet, then check that you have entered the server URL correctly.
    1. Select FEED from the menu bar, then select PREFERENCES.

    2. Under the SERVER tab, check that you have correctly entered the server URL in the SERVER textbox.

    3. Check that correct PORT is entered (this is usually 80)

    4. Check that the following is in the REQUEST textbox: /IRIS/desktopinterface.do

    5. Click ok.

  • If the above are all correct, AND you are inside a company firewall, check to make sure that your company is not running a PROXY SERVER, which sits between your computer and the internet and filters requests.

If your company is using a proxy server, you will need to ask your company IT group for the Proxy name or URL and Port of the proxy server.

Enter this information by going to FEED, selecting PREFERENCES, then selecting the PROXY tab.Check the USE PROXY checkbox, then enter the proxy name (or URL or IP address) on the PROXY textbox and the proxy port on the PORT textbox. Then click OK.

The mobile client says "Can't Connect to Server" after I enter my username and password.
