System Requirements
This page lists the requirements necessary to run the various IRIS components.

Administrator Requirements
|
The administrative client is 100% browser-based, so this means everywhere access to the controls! All the administrator needs is:
- Internet access
- A standard browser such as Mozilla FireFox or Microsoft Internet Explorer

End User Requirements (mobile)
|
The mobile client will work on any J2ME-enabled handheld device (PDA, cellphone, or other mobile device). The following requirements are necessary:
- Handheld is J2ME-enabled (MIDP 1.0 and greater)
- Internet connection on handheld or mobile device

End User Requirements (desktop)
|
The desktop client will run on Windows, Mac, and Linux desktops so long as they are Java-enabled!
- Java Runtime Environment (JRE), version 1.4 and greater. Click here to get the JRE if you do not have it.

Administrator Site Requirements
|
|
It does not take a lot to prepare your site for the RimLife IRIS System.
- Desktop (Windows) with USB connections
- Powered USB Hub (in order to connect multiple webcams)
- Webcam software – to connect multiple webcams and upload to FTP server. May also require MultiCam software from Vista Imaging
- Webcam hardware
- Internet access

Web-hosting requirements
|
|
The selected web host has to have several necessary features in order to run the RimLife IRIS server software.
- Must be able to run Java servlets and JSP pages packaged in a WAR file
- Able to accommodate Jakarta Struts
- mySQL Database
